23 February 2026 – Educators and leaders from the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) working in various institutions around the world gathered today at St. Joseph’s Theological Institute (SJTI) to begin a week-long series of discussions focused on the theme “Higher Education as Oblate Mission.”
The week was officially opened by Fr. Raymond Mwaangala, O.M.I., who warmly welcomed all participants and highlighted the importance of collaboration and shared vision among Oblate educators globally.
Attendees will spend the entire week at SJTI, engaging in workshops, discussions, and reflections on how the Oblate charism can shape leadership, scholarship, and formation in higher education today. The gathering represents a unique opportunity for exchange of experiences, innovative practices, and strategies to strengthen the mission of the Oblates in academic settings.
