The Institute held its opening picnic yesterday at the Protea Sports Grounds in Northdale. Volley ball, soccer and braai was the order of the day. The highlight was the traditional soccer match between the first years and the old students. After being down two nil, the first year came back to draw the match 2-2, managing to pull together as a team, still not knowing each others names. Congratulations to them. Much fun was had by all.
After the week of orientation, including the opening mass (homily available on the Institute’s website) we are now ready to begin the lectures on Monday. All the best to the students and lecturers for the semester ahead.
