The core mission of the department is to supply academic formation for candidates for the Roman Catholic Priesthood. The theology department offers two qualifications, a Bachelor of Arts in Theology BA (Theol) and a Bachelor of Theology B.Th.
Post Graduate Diploma in Theology
The Post-Graduates Diploma in Theology is a one-year programme focused on providing candidates for ministry with the knowledge and skills required to perform their pastoral duties in a professional, ethical and efficient manner. While the provision of theological and of pastoral skills is the primary focus of the programme.
It is also designed to provide students with the skills and experience in research methodology that is a pre-requirement for admission to Masters programmes in cognate fields.
Furthermore, the programme is flexible enough to accommodate every member of the People of God with the necessary qualifications, and for those who wish to understand and contribute better to the Mission of Christ entrusted to the entire Church.
